
Carole Coleman O’Halloran, our head teacher, earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Massachusetts. She has held three previous head teacher positions. She taught kindergarten in Oregon, returned to Massachusetts to work in an Early Childhood Center with 3- to 5-year-olds, and later taught a mixed age group of 2- to 5-year-old children at the Boston University Children’s Center. Carole is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Carole’s son and daughter both attended East Side Nursery School. She has been teaching at ESNS since 1994.

Susan Alario, our assistant teacher, received her BS in Nursing from Boston University. Her field of interest was medical-surgical intensive care and recovery room nursing. Susan worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Susan’s affiliation with the school spans more than two decades. Her children, Robin, Katie, and Scott all attended East Side Nursery School, where Susan has been the assistant teacher since 1989.
