The East Side Nursery School educational program is based on the guidelines of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards.
Our program is play-oriented and based on a free-choice environment. During activity time, children choose from among several interest areas (art, dramatic play, blocks, small manipulatives, and science) that allow them to explore and learn at their own pace.
We offer a two-morning-per-week program for children that have turned 3 years old by September 1st of the year they begin school. There are sixteen children in this class with two teachers and a helping parent present each day the children meet.
Our three-morning-per-week program is available to children who have turned 4 years old by September 1st. There are 18 children in this class with two teachers and a helping parent present each day the children meet.
For the 2010-11 school year, tuition will be $1,780 for the 3-year-old program and $2,215 for the 4-year-old program.
Our day begins with dropoff between 8:45 and 9 am and ends with pickup between 11:45 and 12 noon.
The school year runs from mid-September to mid-June. Holidays and vacations in most cases follow the Providence Public School schedule.

Weather permitting, each school day ends with time on our outdoor playground.

We strive to help each individual child to feel comfortable not only with themselves, but with others.

Early childhood education extends beyond the indoor classroom. Field trips take us to various local attractions.
